Coming back!!

Well folks! I've almost survived school! I decided last year to go back to school full time and it kinda kicked my butt :) I had to put photography on hold while I found a balance between being a mommy and school work and it was difficult but I think I have now accomplished the balance and man, I miss photography! I plan on doing a really awesome "Welcome back" package! Stay tuned!

This mom to be is stunning. Beautiful! I love pregnant bellies, I think the woman has this glow and no matter how she feels inside, she is glowing outside! It was one of my most favorite times in my life, being pregnant with my 4 beautiful babies.. I miss it, but not enough to have another!!
Baby Joseph will be here very soon! Im excited to meet him in the delivery room. Kandis and Brian have asked me to photograph there special day and I of course said YES YES YES!!

I was tired of my old blog, I need a change! I know might look a little "black & white" but I LOVE it! It has taken me a few days to work out some kinks, but overall I am satisfied! I am planning to change the picture weekly, and maybe try a flashfader..(maybe-haha)I have added social bookmarking buttons - FB & twitter & Myspace etc..

I have a daughter named Kali Elizabeth Mae. She is almost 4 yrs old. When she was 4 months old we were given the devastating news that she had a catastrophic form of Epilepsy called "Infantile Spasms" It broke our hearts. We did not know what to expect, or how to feel, or how to even hold this little baby anymore. We felt that she was to fragile, and we didn't want to break her. Over time the Dr's began to tell us more and more of what Kali would face in her future, each time you hear this, you break inside.. your hope fades and the possible seems impossible.
This is why I became a photographer.. not for the money. Not for the rush. Not to be a stay at home mother. For my daughter, kali. I knew I would never be able to take her to a studio, most places like JCpenny's or Sears have a 15 minute time slot, they are not doing there job because its a passion, they are simply pushing a button and snapping a picture.. I needed to capture a moment in my daughters life. Every moment that she accomplished something that we never thought she would do.. which I have! Kali sitting up, her crawling and even walking!

I was told by a mommy friend of mine about an organization called The Littlest Heroes Project http://www.littlestheroesproject.org/ Photographers from around the world devote there time and session (including a disc!) to families with a child that has a devastating diagnosis. I LOVE this idea, this project and I am beyond excited to have this opportunity to be a part of something so special! I submitted my application on Friday and Monday morning I got my acceptance email!

I encourage you to check this project out! If you are a family member with your very own child who has a medical diagnosis, take advantage of this opportunity! If you know of a family, if you work in a medical facility, encourage families to do this!! They will not regret it!

*I love this picture! It was taken just as the sun was setting and we were deep in a valley with low tree's/brush and small river creeks. the fog like appearance adds a unique presence to this setting!

Ok I would like to nominate this family , Mom (Tamika) is a single mom of 3 kids, which two are adopted, I don’t know very much about the family but I do know Mom is a single mom and is working and also going to school for nursing, recently like 3 weeks ago, she received a call that her apt. was on fire, and they lost EVERYTHING, including their dog in the fire L and I’m sure all the kids pictures are included. I do know that they are struggling but are very thankful. I don’t think they have had pictures done by a professional photographer and would greatly appreciate it. I’m sure she no longer owns a camera at this point and not able to take pictures of the kids during the holidays and such.
So I would like to give them that so please vote for this family, who just lost everything they own and then some before the holiday season.
